Reiki & Chakra Balancing
Reiki is a Japanese
technique for stress reduction and relaxation that allows
everyone
to tap into an
unlimited supply of "life force energy" (known as ki) to
improve health and enhance the quality of life. The
knowledge that an unseen energy flows through all living
things and is connected directly to the quality of our
health has been part of the wisdom of many cultures since
ancient times. The Chinese call this energy “Qi”, and in
India it is known as “Prana”.
The existence of this "Ki" has been verified by recent
scientific experiments, and medical doctors are considering
the role it plays in the functioning of the immune system
and the healing process. If our "life force energy" is low,
then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if
it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Reiki is administered by light touch or by working a few
inches away – the Reiki practitioner has the ability to
receive and channel universal life energy or “Ki” through
his/her hands, delivering it to the recipient. A treatment
feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through
you and surrounds you – you may feel sensations of warmth or
a feeling of release, as the pathways of “Ki” open up and
begin to flow more freely. Reiki treats the whole person
including body, emotions, mind and spirit and creates many
beneficial effects, including relaxation and feelings of
peace, security, and well-being.
It works in
conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques
to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
While
Reiki can be spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It
has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order
to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on
belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or
not.
“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the
mystical. It is the source of all true art and science.”

Chakra Balancing
A
Reiki session may concentrate on a particular injured area,
or the practitioner may work on each of the 7 primary
Chakras. A Chakra Balancing
session begins with the practitioner scanning the chakras to
determine which of them is low in energy or blocked,
followed by Reiki over each chakra – the practitioner will
spend more time working on those chakras that are not fully
open, allowing time for the flow of “Ki” to resume.
Chakra
is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel or vortex. The seven major
Chakras are located along the spinal column. There are three
major energy streams flowing through and around the spine –
that concentrate at each of the Chakras, rotating like a
vortex around each center, and spinning outward to form the
aura – an electromagnetic field around the body that
reflects the state of these energy centers. The Chakras
both absorb and emit energy - acting as a channel to the
energy that we are conveying through our bodies. Each
Chakra has a physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual
influence on the areas of the body located nearest to it.
The seven
Chakras are energy centers located from the base of your
spine to the crown of your head. Each
Chakra
generates and stores specific frequencies of energy that can
be related to certain visual colors, aromas, sounds, and to
various aspects of your physical, mental, emotional, and
spiritual being. In health as well as illness, each
Chakra
is associated with specific issues. Chakras
become imbalanced when there is too much or too little
energy flowing through the Chakra. Holding negative
thoughts or blocking an emotional experience can cause the
Chakras to become clouded or unbalanced.
